Noah of Deceit

No. How can she know? The crystal - how can - she can't. She can't know. But this isn't real - I know it's gone. I killed it. I killed it. But this can't be an illusion. She can't make me see this. But it has to be fake. It can't be real. She doesn't know. She doesn't know. No. No. It's back. It's back. Oh God, no. No. Please. It's back. God save me.

An entry for 's contest, featuring the Noah! version of her D Gray Man FC, Kira (upper), and my FC, Gail (lower). 

I'm sorry if this seems super duper uber intense and isn't particularly original but if we're talking illusions.......

For the majority of you who have no idea about Gail's backstory, you can read a bit here for context but basically those green Innocence crystals took her away from her family, kept her in a wheelchair (and by her measure, kept her useless) for four years, and right when she thought she was free of it, it forced her into a punishing, often morally grey career she can only leave when she dies. After all that, those crystals are the symbol of loss of control over herself and her life. After being unable to control those things for so long, she covets the control she does have and often feels the need to test it to reassure herself it's still there. If there was ever going to be a thing to drive Gail ultimately over the edge, it would be the thought of these crystals returning, and the fear that she would never have control again. _{Gail calls it the "crystal" and not Innocence because it first appeared before she knew what Innocence was, and she uses the old name to separate the crystal from her weapon now, which she feels she can control and is therefore 'safe'}

Sooo when I was reading about this Noah I got really excited about their dynamic and I never knew what I needed in Gail's story until this Noah made me think so now I need to find a way to trigger this fear more often haha.

_{I spose this would probably be emphasizing the teasing side of Kira's personality. I'm honestly not sure how she found out about Gail's weakness haha but I'm sure it would be possible somehow. She probably guessed a bit while trying to have a banter session with Gail. As Gail also likes banter and refuses to let anyone else have the last word, it's not unlikely that she would give too much away. Using this method, Kira wouldn't have to physically attack Gail at all - she'd do it all to herself.}

I died very very painfully as I attempted to draw shadows and fog so clearly I got lazy at the end. Please forgive me for slacking off on making what is probably one of my best art pieces ever even better.

I'm also sorry for a huge artist's comment. I'm just really proud of this piece and the work/thought I put into it. <sub>I may edit it later if I think of more things sorry sorry sorry
